At least 2,560 passports have remained uncollected at the state headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

This was disclosed by the Comptroller of the state command of the NIS, Simbabi Baikie during a chat with journalists in his office in Calabar on Tuesday.

Passport Control Officer and Deputy Comptroller of Immigration, Clementina Ogbudu, confirmed the figure, adding that after five years, the passports wouldexpire.

Why will people claim them? When the people need the passports, the officials won't make the passports available. Now it is not useful. Let the officials make use of them.
