Medical doctors under the employ of Lagos State government on Monday said 16 of its members have tested positive for COVID-19.

The doctors, under the auspices of Medical Guild, at a Press conference said the members had been playing a critical role in the COVID-19 response by engaging in training, contact tracing and surveillance, enlightening of the public and providing clinical care at the isolation centres and the hospitals.

Continuing, he said, “The current community transmission of COVID-19 has led to a situation where everyone can be designated as a COVID suspect, especially as there are asymptomatic patients as well as those with atypical symptoms.” “This should be in place so as to reduce exposure of healthcare workers and the populace, with results released within a maximum of 48 hours.

“We do not support the use of gloves [because] if they are not changed regularly and hand hygiene practised as it should be, could lead to increased spread,” Sodipo noted. “There is a need for a holistic review of the welfare package of health workers in the state, especially with the implementation of the agreement between healthcare workers and the Federal Government, which covers an initial period of three months, starting from April 2020.

“This will assist for clinical decision making with reduction in spread among patients, healthcare workers and the population.

I wish our heroes speedy recovery. And May the Almighty Bless then and their families for the sacrifices they have made at this very critical times.

Na The Doctor picture be that?

Very sad indeed. I wish them quick recovery.

Doctors from which of the hospitals

Like seriously we the people they are governing on are more a problem, if not why still put a doubt that the pandemic still do not exist.

16🙆 how many come remain o💔God will be with them🙏

Not surprising when our politicians won't supply personal protective equipment to frontliners, we are risking too much for an unfair system

My prayer for all the doctors around the world is that they see the end of COVID 19

We need to think outside the box for solutions this period.

The rate of infection amongst medical personnel is on the high side. What's the rate of PPE usage?

This is painful.

Ahhhh

Nigeria doctor don't know how to work

Akwa unu ahula! Pls medical workers be adequately dressed and prepared with ur PPE(7/7) before working. Biko. No complete PPE, no work. You have to be alive and healthy to take care of the patients.

May GOD help them

Receive divine healing the true heroes 💖

I wish then quick recovery. I think because of the nature of their job, doctors should earn more money than politicians. At least they take huge risks to safe lives. They are so underrated.

Please God protect them for us and for their families.

Won ti be re o

Wahala dey ooo🙆🙆

Wahala dey

Se e ri aiye bayi o.....haaaaa nkan nbe

Our prayers are with them. May God Grant them speedy recovery

Pls, if you have no reason to go out, stay at home. Covid19 is not like anything this generation has ever seen. Safe yourself and ur family frm untimely death.

Again?

Wow

Some morons still think it's a hoax

I hope Lagos health workers won't abscond the way they did in Kano?

God Please Save The World

Med ooh
