this fall will be getting an enhanced digital learning experience thanks to Verizon's Innovative Learning program.
The initiative seeks to help students overcome barriers to technology with free devices, access to the internet, and innovative STEM learning programs. Rosemore Middle School and Whitehall-Yearling High School are among the 34 new schools joining the 11th cohort of Verizon Innovative Learning Schools. That makes 626 middle and high schools nationwide.
Beginning in the fall of 2024, every student and teacher at those schools will receive a free Chromebook with an accompanying Verizon data plan. The program will also assign a full-time coach to train teachers to use the new technology effectively in the classroom."When we first joined Digital Promise, I had a chance to see the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program firsthand in California, I knew right away that this was a program that I wanted to bring to the staff and students in Whitehall," Dr. Sharee Wells, Superintendent Whitehall City Schools, said in a statement.
