Coach Jeff Traylor is not likely to tip his hand on the Roadrunners' next starting quarterback with UTSA's 2024 opener three weeks away.
Staring down the need to name a No. 1 quarterback, UTSA coach Jeff Traylor said he “would not blink” before putting either Owen McCown or Eddie Lee Marburger behind center. Both showed the potential to shine in the Roadrunners ' offense through limited action last year, which is why Traylor said he expects a “very painful day” when he confers with the likes of offensive coordinator Justin Burke , senior analyst Pavit Patel and chief of staff Matt Turner to name a starter.
Marburger opened the season as the Roadrunners’ backup, stepping in for an injured Harris for a few snaps against Texas State during the second week of the season and making his first career start the following week against Army.
