Two children were injured Sunday after their father crashed into the back of a San Antonio police patrol vehicle, police said. The crash happened around 3 a.m. on the South Side near the intersection of South Zarzamora Street and SW Loop 410. Police said the father was driving a white Kia Rio down Zarzamora Street when he crashed into the back of a San Antonio Police Department patrol vehicle that was stopped at a red light.
Two 19-year-old men shot and killed outside East Side home, police say The patrol car was then pushed into the back of a Chevy Tahoe, police said. Two children, a 6-year-old and a 10-year-old, were inside the Kia at the time of the crash, police said. Both were injured and were transported to the hospital by EMS. Police said the 6-year-old received a more serious injury. The SAPD officer received a minor injury and refused treatment from EMS, police said. No one in the Chevy Tahoe was injured.
