'Midsummer Sueño,' an original, bilingual adaptation of the Bard's 'Midsummer Night's Dream,' opens April 19 in San Pedro Springs Park.
The show must go on and all that, but actor Humberto Garcia could have passed his role to an understudy for opening night of the San Pedro Playhouse’s “Midsummer Sueño” with good reason: He had an invite to the White House the same night. Garcia wrote “Mustang Miracle,” a nonfiction book about a self-taught Mexican American golf team from Del Rio that won the Texas State High School Golf Championship in 1957.

The show also references San Antonio. The set, designed by Tony Ciaravino, was inspired by Hot Wells, and there are visuals that suggest Fiesta including colorful ribbons on some of Rachael Lorenzetti’s costumes.
