Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said the man is in serious condition.
FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. — A man is recovering after getting bitten by a shark while fishing in a Nassau County river Friday, the sheriff said.
“When he got it up out of the water, it lunged and grabbed a hold of his forearm,” Leeper said. “Which had a pretty bad bite, lost a lot of blood. So he’s in serious condition.” Leeper wasn’t able to say how big nor what kind of shark it was that bit the man because he said it was tossed back in the water as everything was happening.
