Salvation Army Austin operates two family shelters, the Austin Shelter for Women and Children and the Rathgeber Center for Families. But you may not know that both of these shelters are at capacity every night, and each has an extensive waitlist of hundreds of parents and children. Right now 86% of those sheltered in their facilities are women and children.The need is great, consequently so is what they're asking for.
