Ryan McMahon had two hits and two RBIs, Ty Blach opened the game with five strong innings, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Oakland Athletics 2-0 in Denver on Sunday.
Nolan Jones also had two hits and Justin Lawrence got the final three outs for his eighth save for Colorado, which snapped a four-game losing streak and salvaged the final game of the weekend series against Oakland.The Rockies had traffic on the bases in the first two innings but didn't score until the third. With one out, starter Luis Medina hit Austin Wynns and moved him to second with a balk. It was costly when McMahon singled to center to give Colorado a 1-0 lead.
Blach scattered three hits and tossed 52 pitches -- and just 11 balls -- before leaving with a 1-0 lead. He finished his day by inducing Nick Allen to hit into an inning-ending double play to third base.
