With recent concerns rising about attending large events due to fears of violence, Rocky River Police Chief George Lichman shared his thoughts regarding personal and home protection.

Officers are being trained all the time regarding potential violence at community events.ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- Police Chief George Lichman recently commented on residents’ concerns about attending large community events due to the potential for violence.throughout Northeast Ohio have led some people to feel anxious about participating in festivals and other events where there are large crowds.
“There is a difference in being prepared and living like it is going to happen. But we do have to be prepared. “For example, we have regular training, including classroom and practical training. And another training event is scheduled for later in the year,” the police chief said.“I would also say even though these things continue to happen, there is no specific information for when and where these things will happen.
