Outfielder Jarren Duran's remarks were caught during a Sunday game against the Houston Astros.
Jarren Duran , an outfielder for the Boston Red Sox , is apologizing for using a homophobic slur to reference a heckler during a game on Sunday.
Duran then said, “shut up, you f----ing fa---t” as he looked toward the stands, according to broadcast of the game. The Red Sox said they addressed the comment immediately after the game, and the outfielder apologized.. “I feel awful knowing how many people I offended and disappointed. I apologize to the entire Red Sox organization, but more importantly to the entire LGBTQ community.
