Breaking down who and what to pay attention to from Auburn's tight ends in 2024
Most of the optimism around Auburn ’s offense has been directed towards the wide receivers or running backs for good reason.
Rivaldo Fairweather is at the top of that group, and he led Auburn in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Even for Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne, who told reporters Monday that he tries to avoid looking back at last season, “Now you know they can’t double team him anymore,” Thorne said. “There were times we’d get in the redzone, they’d cloud coverage to him because they knew we were throwing stop route or go route to him and they do that this year, now they’re gonna be light elsewhere.”After his performances throughout the 2023 season, that has changed, leaving many surprised that he was left off all three preseason All-SEC teams.“I don’t really pay attention to preseason stuff.
“He’s going to be really good for this offense. Having both of us in there - we go 12 personnel, it’s going to be hard to stop,” Fairweather said of him and Frazier.
