The state agency, which oversees distribution of alcoholic beverages in the state and operates about 600 wine and spirit stores, on WednesdayIt said sales for the most recent year totaled $3.15 billion, reaching $133 million or 4.5% more than the prior year. However, this year’s net income totaled $260.8 million, which was $70.1 million or 21% lower than the prior year, according to the agency. The LCB noted in its press release increases related to pension and workers’ compensation obligations contributed to the net income decrease.This year, contributions to state and local government and other beneficiaries totaled $869.7 million.
