A person was shot and killed in East Oakland on Thursday evening, according to police.
OAKLAND -- Officers were dispatched to the 7900 block of Ney Avenue around 7 p.m. after receiving multiple ShotSpotter activations.When officers arrived, they located a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene.Police learned that multiple injured people transported themselves to nearby hospitals, as well. There was no information provided by authorities regarding the exact number of injuries or the conditions of the shooting victims.
On Saturday morning, police responded to the 1600 block of 83rd Avenue following a ShotSpotter activation in the area. When police arrived, they found four people who suffered gunshot wounds, two of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. Earlier this week, Oakland Police Department officials confirmed that two suspects were arrested Monday in connection with the weekend quadruple shooting.
