Meteorologists are forecasting lake effect snow to blanket parts of Geauga, Lake and Cuyahoga Counties through Thursday, with more on the way this weekend. David Petkiewicz, cleveland.comCLEVELAND, Ohio – Parts of Northeast Ohio could see up to 14 inches of snow by Thursday night, with more on the way this weekend.
“We had a low-pressure system move across late Tuesday through Wednesday and there’s some lake effect snow coming in behind that because winds are coming in from the northwest,” said Alex Kennedy, a meteorologist with National Weather Service Cleveland. The lake effect snow alert is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday, but this weekend is likely to bring more snow, Kennedy said.
The lake effect snow is expected to bounce northward Thursday evening but return this weekend to deliver more snow to the area, Kennedy said.
