A Paterson woman charged with attacking her granddaughter this week told police she “was hearing voices” before she stabbed the 5-year-old with a kitchen knife, puncturing a lung.
Inside the home, they found the little girl lying on her side, her clothing drenched with blood, according to an affidavit of probable cause. Villacorta allegedly stabbed the girl moments later. When police arrived, Villacorta directed them to a kitchen sink, where they found the knife, according to the affidavit.
Doctors told police the girl sustained a “minor puncture wound to her lung” as a result of the assault.
