Since the officer-involved shooting of her son, Catherine Jones said she's received mixed messages from police on what happened the night of June 3.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Saturday marks day 12 days since Catherine Jones spoke with her 21-year-old son Tyler May for the last time.
Later around 9:30 p.m. that night, an Anchorage Police Officer responded to reports of shots being fired near the Anchorage Senior Activity Center in Fairview. Tyler May was referred to as “Man #2″ in a Since the shooting, Jones said she’s received mixed messages from APD on what happened that night — including that police allegedly told her that her son was on the ground when he was shot. Others, she said, have said May was standing up when he was shot.“From the day I had my sons — they’re both biracial ― I knew that there would be a day that this would probably be my reality and I’m standing in my reality today,” Jones said.
