She was charged with child endangerment Sunday, and the children, between ages 2 and 8, were immediately removed from the home.
Three children were left alone in a Lower Swatara mobile home covered in feces, garbage and rotting food while their mother went on a date on Sunday, police said in court documents.
The home was in “complete disarray,” the affidavit said, thick with the smell of ammonia. Court documents said the floor was not visible because it was covered in clothing, food and garbage. Several half-filled pill bottles were lying around the house in reach of the children, the affidavit said. The children’s clothing was filthy, police wrote, and the two younger children needed their diapers changed.
At the time police arrived, the 2-year-old child was missing, and had last been seen walking along a road three blocks from their home, court documents said.
