Officers responded to the Exxon gas station in the 1100 block of Third Avenue West at 2:40 a.m. Saturday after the city’s gunfire detection system – Shot Spotter – indicated multiple rounds fired.

Once at the gas station – which was closed at the time of the shooting – they found a man unresponsive in the parking lot. Officer Truman Fitzgerald said there is little information about what happened. Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and clues.
