Lake Travis Fire Rescue is asking homeowners to look around their properties for wildfire dangers ahead of a community greenbelt clean-up event this weekend.

The deadly wildfires that continue to burn in Los Angeles have spotlighted the importance of clearing potential fuel hazards like brush and downed limbs from around homes. The fires are a grim reminder for people living in Steiner Ranch of its own devastating wildfire in 2011, which destroyed close to two dozen homes.

As wildfires continue to burn in Southern California, she's reminded of having to evacuate in 2011 when a wildfire came close to her own home.
