Oscar-winning actor and comedian Jamie Foxx is opening up for the first time in his new stand-up special on Netflix about his mysterious health scare. NBC’s Liz Kreutz reports for TODAY.
Jamie Foxx was injured after someone threw a glass that struck him in the mouth, his representative said amid reports the comedian was involved in a fight at a Beverly Hills, California, restaurant. The altercation occurred just after 10 p.m. Friday at Mr. Chow. Beverly Hills police said officers initially received a call about a 'possible assault with a deadly weapon' but determined it was unfounded, a news release states.
No arrests have been made. A representative for Foxx said he was celebrating his birthday at the restaurant when someone at another table allegedly 'threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.' He turned 57 on Friday. 'He had to get stitches and is recovering. The police were called and the matter is now in law enforcement’s hands,' Foxx's representative said.
