Over a million Igloo 90-quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers are being recalled due to a safety hazard. The common tow handle can pinch consumers' fingertips, posing a risk of fingertip amputation and crushing injuries. Igloo has received reports of 12 such injuries. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled coolers and contact Igloo for a free replacement handle.

Stocking a cooler with cold drinks and picnic-ready sandwiches is the perfect budget-friendly way to prep for a beach trip or day at the park, so it’s a sensible spring investment—but if you already own one, you may want to check the brand, model, and manufacture date before your next outdoor adventure.

The recalled coolers were all marked “IGLOO” and sold from January 2019 through January 2025, according to the release. Priced at between $80 and $140, they were available for purchase at major retail stores like Target, Costco, Academy, and Dick’s Sporting Goods, as well as online at Amazon.com, Igloocoolers.com, and other websites. In total, around 1,060,000 were sold in the US, about 47,000 in Canada, and about 23,000 in Mexico, the release stated.
