King Ghidorah, which memorably introduced Mecha-King Ghidorah, a cyborg version of Godzilla's greatest enemy created from his remains. Special effects director Koichi Kawakita reportedly developed a plan for Mothra to be transformed into a cyborg in the next installment. However, this idea hinged on a different ending for Godzilla vs. Mothra, where Mothra would have perished, paving the way for her cybernetic resurrection. Mothra's design would have undergone a drastic change, resembling a dragonfly according to Godzilla suit actor Kenpachiro Satsuma. Ultimately, Toho chose to continue with Mothra's survival in Godzilla vs. Mothra, leaving the cyborg transformation to remain a fascinating 'what if' scenario in the Godzilla universe
