SCSO says April Woodside is currently under a criminal investigationSUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio - A police officer in Northeast Ohio has been terminated after 19 Investigates discovered she is now the focus of a criminal investigation.
In June of 2022, Woodside was hired by SCSO to work as a deputy at the jail. Records show just four months into the job, she began sending risqué photos of herself to a male inmate.19 Investigates obtained audio from when internal affairs questioned Woodside about her sexual relationship with that inmate ― something that happens to be a third-degree felony in Ohio.“You had intercourse. Where did that take place?” Dellinger asked.“Yes,” Woodside said.
Last month, 19 Investigates questioned UH officials about why they hired Woodside after she was terminated by SCSO. One week later, UH sent the following statement: We then asked UH whether they had contacted Summit County or requested Woodside’s personnel file prior to hiring her, especially since she had been employed by SCSO for less than five months.
