The Summit County Public Health department announced Tuesday that it does monitor for mosquito-transmitted diseases in the county.
SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio -
The department sent a release Tuesday reminding residents it does monitor for vector-transmitted diseases, or diseases transmitted by blood-feeding bugs. The county has a mosquito monitoring and abatement program, the department says, adding that Barberton and Norton are served by the Barberton-Norton Mosquito Abatement District.
As our climate continues to change and we experience longer seasons with higher temps and heavy rains, mosquitos will have the opportunity to be present longer and establish themselves further north than we are accustomed. SCPH will remain vigilant in our surveillance efforts and will respond promptly and robustly to any threats that may arise in the future.Northeast Ohio business denied insurance claim after losing nearly $45,000 during the historic power outageBrowns rookie DT Mike Hall Jr.
