Forget Cornwall - try Yorkshire's 'warmest' beach that's beautifully unspoilt
By Mediterranean standards it's brass monkeys but by British standards, Cornwall has among the mildest climate on these shores. It's scenic too with craggy cliffs, sandy beaches and azure seas.
It's also quiet, especially compared to Whitby which you can see from Sandsend. Unless it's foggy you can see Whitby's famous abbey and pier from Sandsend smug in the knowledge you have more elbow room than they do. While Sandsend attracts visitors with its landscape and wildlife, it's not just a beach. There's a pub and a couple of restaurants .
