Met Office severe weather warning as 9-hour thunderstorm alert issued

Thunderstorms could hit Leeds and Yorkshire this weekend

The first warning will be in place on Saturday, but will only cover the southern areas of the country, This is until Sunday at midday, when a new warning will be put in place that will last until 9pm that day.

The Met Office has also warned of spray on the roads and is encouraging drivers to go carefully. Nearby Bradford, Huddersfield and Wakefield are also within the thunderstorm warning.
