As far as the cause for these startling statistics, there’s a few factors at play here, one being financial worries, 56% of these young adults said their stress of finances is having a negative effect on their mental health. Just over half said there’s a lot of pressure to succeed and achieve big things. And 58% of young adults just say they lack a sense of purpose or meaning in life.
There was a difference between the struggles of men and women. About 41% of women reported anxiety and 35% reported depression. For men, the numbers were about ten percent lower.
