Darian Lewis, known in music circles as DJ D Baby, was enjoying a successful career before she died Wednesday after falling from an apartment balcony in downtown Houston.

Her mother, Terri Lewis, said her"heart is heavy and broken" in aAlic Walls, of Grammy-nominated The Walls Group, said he met Lewis two years ago and asked her to be the DJ for his solo work. They became friends.
"She says all the time, she supports who supports her. 'I love everybody who loves me.' I love people like that.""Prayers to you," wrote rapper Just Brittany."This is heartbreaking."At the time of the fall, Lewis had been at her girlfriend Nishia Jackson's apartment for just 10 minutes after being dropped off by a friend. Jackson recounted the evening on a lengthy Facebook post.
