Contract workers at DFW Airport joined a nationwide demonstration Tuesday for better wages and benefits.
They want higher job standards required in the law reauthorizing the FAA that is due to be approved by Sept. 30.The protest leader was Service Employees International Union Texas President Elsa Flores.
The same SEUI leader went to Dallas City Hall in March with a delegation of the DFW Airport contract workers seeking support. The City of Dallas already requires higher wages for contract workers at Dallas Love Field, much higher than what some DFW workers receive. Dallas City Council members generally supported the DFW worker goals that day but lacked the power to require it at DFW Airport.
