The SFDAOffice on Thursday charged Jesus Esparza with murder and use of a deadly weapon.
A man has been charged for allegedly stabbing a 64-year-old woman to death in the lobby of a Duboce Avenue apartment.
Police were called at approximately 11 a.m. on May 5 to a building on the 400 block of Duboce Avenue following a report of an unresponsive person. Officers found the victim, Mei Ran Hu, suffering from a stab wound. Esparza, who faces 26 years to life in prison, is scheduled to be arraigned on May 19. Prosecutors will seek pretrial detention because of"the extreme public safety risk he poses."
