The Marysville Board of Education is set to meet Thursday night for the first time since voters rejected a proposed school levy by approximately 350 votes.
The Marysville Board of Education is set to meet Thursday night at 6 p.m. for the first time since voters rejected a proposed school levy by approximately 350 votes.a levy in 15 years. In response to the levy’s failure, school officials have begun warning families about potential cuts to programs and increased "pay to play" costs for sports and other extracurricular activities.
Meanwhile, the Columbus City School Board will hold a special meeting from 6-9 p.m. at the South Administrative Building. The meeting aims to continue debriefing from recent visits to schools that are being considered for closure and consolidation.had participated virtually in the last special meeting on proposed school closures, but board members did not have the opportunity to discuss their visits to the schools at risk.
The nine schools under consideration for closure include Broadleigh Elementary, Buckeye Middle School, Eastmoor Middle Facility , Fairwood Elementary, Lindbergh Elementary, McGuffey Facility , Moler Elementary, North Linden Elementary and West Broad Elementary.
