The Alabama Legislature passed two high-priority bills in the same night.MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Alabama lawmakers are celebrating Wednesday night’s passage of the school voucher-like program called the CHOOSE Act, and Gov. Kay Ivey signed the bill into law Thursday morning.The bill, formally titled the Creating Hope & Opportunity for Our Students’ Education Act, has been a priority for the governor.
“Today Alabama put school children and their families first. Children are our future, and there is no greater responsibility for lawmakers than ensuring our kids have every resource needed for academic success regardless of their zip code. We want our children to achieve their dreams and reach their full potential, and the CHOOSE Act provides this opportunity in a fiscally responsible way.
