Cleveland Heights' strategic move to oversee concessions at Cain Park contributed to the venue's financial growth last year.

Updated: Jan. 14, 2025, 6:09 p.m.Just around the corner from Cain Park, renovations of the Taylor Tudor buildings have officially gotten under way. The transformational multimillion-dollar Cain Park Village project will restore the historic district to its original splendor, creating a mixed-use development with "live-work" offices and apartments.

“And we need to point out that this is not a business,” Seren cautioned, adding that it may at times be hard not to view Cain Park in those terms. Hinz and Stephens also provided a “Top 10″ on concert ticket sales over the past two years, with only three of the highest-grossing shows listed from 2023.

As City Council continues to seek financial information relevant to passing a complete budget for the rest of this year, members may seek additional information on expenditures at Cain Park -- including how much the city had to pay the acts -- at least over the past two years.
