The heroics of the teenager from Surrey in the amateur game have earned him a shot at pitting his wits against some household names on the PGA Tour in the weeks before he sits his exams
Youngster Kris Kim is gearing up to make his PGA Tour debut at the tender age of just 16 as he prepares for his bow at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch next week .
Helping the team to victory on home turf at Marco Simone, Kim dazzled spectators as he went unbeaten in the contest, with three wins and a half as Europe dispatched of the US. During a bumper year for the prospect, he also caught the eye as he demonstrated his talents in the Boys' Amateur Championship, alongside the European Boys' Individual Championship and the McGregor Trophy.
"I can’t wait to play in front of big crowds again. I’ve never hit the ball as far as I did at the Ryder Cup," he told Bunkered. "The adrenalin rush makes golf so much fun. That said, having played that course, and a few more tour courses, I appreciate the task ahead and look forward to the challenge.
