Boerne Champion got the scoring going Saturday in the bottom of the first inning. Jordan Ballin led off the frame with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch. After two pop-ups, Sam Miller drew a two-out walk, and Grant Kinzel made Rouse pay, singling to right field to bring home Ballin and give the Chargers an early 1-0 lead.
Leander Rouse finally got to Miller in the top of the fifth. Two walks and a bunt single loaded the bases with no outs before Colin Carrejo lifted a sacrifice fly to score the Raiders' first run. A hit batsman was followed by a two-run single by Nolan Harris, leading to Miller's exit. Miller allowed four runs on five hits with four walks, two hit batsmen and a strikeout in 4 1/3 innings of work.
