The winner of Saturday’s game with between Yale and Harvard advances to the Ivy League Tournament
Four years of college soccer, close to 60 matches and it all comes down to one match for Yale senior forward/midfielder Alanna Butcher.
Saturday will be Butcher’s 58th match for Yale; she’s started 38 of them. She has eight career goals with two game-winners and 10 assists. “I came from an academic high school, but I love sports,” said Butcher, who worked as a surf instructor. “My family goes to Padres games, Wave games. We’re still Chargers fans. It’s hard to imagine my life without sports.
“I’m a Cali girl at heart,” Butcher said. “But I’m open to anything. I’ll go wherever the job takes me.”This weekend, she hopes a victory takes her to the Ivy League Tournament. has played in 17 games with three starts for 14-1-2 USC, which beat UCLA last week to win the Big Ten Conference championship. She has a goal and an assist.Foster, senior, has played in 16 games with 11 starts and has three assists for a team that is 11-7-1 overall and 7-1-1 in conference play.
