San Franciscans can now, for the first time, request city services on The City’s 311 mobile app in languages other than English.
The update, in development for around a year, allows the app to automatically detect the language on a user’s phone. It’s available to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play. “I know many of our community members have been utilizing The City’s 311 hotline services to navigate our city’s public services, programs and receive information,” said Jose Ng, an immigrant rights program manager with the Chinese for Affirmative Action, an AAPI advocacy group. “My message to our city’s immigrant community is that the 311 app is now an additional resource that is available to you.
