Are your tax dollars being stretched as far as they should? The City of San Antonio is conducting new audits to find out.
Police identified 14-year-old Colt Gray, a student at Apalachee High School, as the gunman who killed two students and two teachers.SAN ANTONIO - Are your tax dollars being stretched as far as they should? Are the city services you rely on working properly? The City of San Antonio is conducting new audits to find out, including two agencies we've been investigating for months.
"We are going to take a look, in terms of closed cases, of what we do in terms of follow-up," said District 3 Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran, who chairs the Audit Committee. But he says the closed cases can be a major concern for people who see that and feel their reports aren't being addressed. She says when 311 shows a case as being closed, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's closed altogether.
"A lot of times these audits, they can be a little lengthy, but when we pore over them as councilmembers, you see policy gaps," Havrda explained, saying she hopes those gaps can be filled with policy or protocol changes.
