Both women were patients of the doctor for more than 20 years.
The state Attorney General’s Office has temporarily suspended the license of a doctor who is accused of inappropriately touching two female patients.
At a November 13 hearing, which included testimony from both patients, the Attorney General’s state board of medical examiners unanimously voted to temporarily suspend Pierce‘s license pending the outcome of the accusations. The first incident was reported to police and the state board of medical examiners in January 2023. The woman, who had been a patient of Pierce since the mid 1990’s, reported that he performed a routine breast, pelvic and rectal exam on her while a female chaperone was present. When the chaperone left, he then performed the same examinations a second time and stated that he wanted to double check some things, according to her testimony.
The second patient reported a similar incident in December 2023. The woman, who was a patient for more than 20 years, told investigators she came in for an examination related to pelvic area pain and declined to have a chaperone present. During the exam, the patient felt uncomfortable with the way she was being touched and requested that the doctor end it, for which he complied, according to her report.
