AKRON , Ohio - Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich announced Tuesday an Akron man was found guilty for a 2025 murder. According to the persecutor’s office, 32-year-old Martinez Williams was found guilty in the 2025 murder of 24-year-old Ontario Bailey inside an apartment building.
In May 2025, Williams arrived at a small gathering at an apartment building on Darrow Road and attempted to aggressively remove one of the partygoers. During the confrontation, the prosecutor’s office said Bailey stepped in to intervene, and Williams fired his gun twice, hitting Bailey once before he ran from the scene. Bailey later died at the hospital from his injuries, and an eyewitness from the scene identified Williams as the shooter.
The following day, Williams turned himself into police and confessed to shooting Bailey and disposing the firearm.
