AI Boom Boosts Luxury Real Estate Prices in Bay Area, but Slows in Silicon Valley and NYC

The artificial intelligence (AI) boom has caused a surge in luxury real estate prices in the Bay Area, with home prices in the most affluent ZIP codes increasing by more than double the rate as the segment just below luxury.

Meanwhile, more affordable areas in Silicon Valley haven't seen the same gains since the launch of ChatGPT sparked the tech sector's AI race. NYC lost more residents across all income levels in 2025, as Americans flee high-cost blue cities, and Californians who move away are typically saving hundreds a month on housing costs
