) - The Montgomery Airport Authority announced Loyd Jenkins as the new executive director of Montgomery Regional Airport on Friday. Jenkins becomes the eighth executive director in the airport’s history, continuing to push growth and leadership within the organization.
The Montgomery Airport Authority announced Loyd Jenkins as the new executive director of Montgomery Regional Airport on Friday.
“We are confident that Loyd’s leadership, industry expertise, and strong ties to the community will guide Montgomery Regional Airport into its next phase of growth,” said Robert Gould, Chairman of the Montgomery Airport Authority Board. A respected professional in the aviation industry, Jenkins most recently served as Airport Police Chief at Montgomery Regional Airport, a role he has held since 2022.
In that role, he has led critical safety and security operations, ensuring the protection of passengers, employees, and airport assets while fostering strong relationships with local and regional partners. Jenkins recently earned his Certified Member designation — an internationally recognized credential reflecting a high level of expertise, leadership and commitment to excellence in airport management.
As a member of the Montgomery community, Jenkins not only brings industry knowledge but also a deep understanding of the region and its evolving transportation needs.
“I am honored to serve as Executive Director of Montgomery Regional Airport,” said Jenkins. “This airport plays a critical role in connecting our community, and I look forward to working alongside our dedicated team, partners, and stakeholders to continue elevating the travel experience and driving growth for the region. ”
