A new sneaker collaboration between Nigo and Takahashi draws inspiration from their early work on the 'Last Orgy 2' magazine column, featuring a navy and white color scheme and subtle branding. The collection also includes apparel with references to the column's full name.
“LO2” references “ Last Orgy 2 ,” the influential magazine column the two designers edited together beginning in 1991, two years prior to them opening the boutique Nowhere together.
Branding for the sneaker plays it safe with the abbreviation “LO2,” which is split across embroidery on the lateral heels of both sneakers and printed across the two insoles. Navy and white color-blocking sees the former color applied to patent leather overlays with contrast stitching, which stands out atop a white leather base. The full name “Last Orgy 2” can be found on the back of a T-shirt included in the collection, as well as on the interior of a coach’s jacket. Nigo and Takahashi’s column was published in the Japanese independent magazine Takarajima and was a successor to Hiroshi Fujiwara’s own with Kan Takagi, “Last Orgy.
