The freight flights are expected to fulfill the demands of Cargo supplies, when Ladakh gets cut off from the rest of the country during the winter months. Ladakh Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal received the first cargo flight, by Spicejet, with 13 tonnes of civilian cargo, at Kushak Bakula Rinpoche Airport in Leh.
