Zaire Manning, 21, was arrested on Tuesday in connection to the triple shooting in West Philadelphia that left 20-year-old Imani Ringgold dead, police say. Authorities arrested a second suspect who was wanted after a innocent bystander was killed in West Philadelphia in April.
NBC10’s Matt DeLucia reports. Zaire Manning, 21, was arrested on the 6300 block of Greene Street in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood on Tuesday, May 19, police said. The U.S. Marshals Service announced that they got information that Manning had changed his appearance and was hiding in Germantown on Monday night. Manning's arrest comes just days after officials arrested Hamza Ruley, 24, who was also wanted in connection to the shooting..
Ringgold's family told NBC10 she was on the phone with her grandmother when she was ambushed by three armed men who jumped out of a black Mazda SUV and opened fire. In surveillance video obtained by NBC10 , Ringgold can be seen walking with a pizza box she had just picked up when the Mazda pulled up with a total of four suspects. Ringgold suffered gunshot wounds to the face, upper torso and hip, police said.
She later died from her injuries. According to police, the shooting was likely a case of mistaken identity and Ringgold was an innocent bystander. Two other victims – a 24-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman – were also shot and taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to investigators. Police said those two victims were innocent bystanders as well.
