New studies have revealed that women don’t need to exercise nearly as much as men do in order to reap the same rewards. Men who get about 300 minutes of aerobic exercise each week have an 18% lower risk of dying compared to men who are more inactive. For women, it takes only 140 minutes of weekly exercise to see the same result. The risk of death is 24% lower if women do decide to go for the 300 minutes a week. Benefits in terms of lowering risk of early death tend to plateau after about 300 minutes a week.
