Sheila Dunne was seriously injured in a single car collision on February 11 and sadly died in Cork University hospital two days later

A woman has reportedly been arrested in connection with a fatal road crash in Glanmire Co Cork last February. SNA and mother-of-two Sheila Dunne died following the single-vehicle collision.

A garda spokesperson confirmed the arrest this morning: "Gardaí investigating a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on 11th February 2024 in Glanmire, Co.Cork have arrested a woman as part of their investigations. "The woman, aged in her 40s, is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Cork Garda Station."READ MORE: Gardaí investigating whether Cork mum Sheila Dunne was moved to driver's seat after fatal crashSheila Dunne died in hospital after the car she was travelling in with another woman crashed. The other woman in the car was not seriously injured.

Mrs Dunne, an SNA at the Watergrasshill National School was predeceased by her husband Ted, a well known local DJ, who passed away just three years ago. They are survived by their two children Lilley and TJ . At the time of her death a colleague wrote, ‘She was the kindest, caring and most selfless person I have ever met. She would always light up any room. I was lucky enough to call her a friend and colleague."
