LIV Golf star Johnson, a two-time major champion, was already forging a successful career when he met his future wife, the daughter of ice hockey's greatest-ever player Wayne Gretzky. They crossed paths after he'd been paired with her mum Janet Jones in a 2009 charity tournament.

And she went back on her word of avoiding dating athletes ever again, agreeing to go out with Johnson in 2012. It quickly escalated, with DJ putting a ring on her finger after just seven months. But they survived and flourished thereafter before going on to finally marry in 2022. They're now stronger than ever and enjoying the fruits of their labour, with a reported combined net worth in excess of £100million.

"Just pulled a muscle in my lower back," he explained, before being asked to elaborate on exactly when he did so by a reporter who questioned: "Swinging a club or lifting up a kid?"
