Give that pay rise to the nurses, and extra holidays !

SusanMcCarthyFG Well played LeoVaradkar . No need to publicise it like all SF tds 🙄

What a superb Taoiseach - what an example to compare to Trump & Johnson. Such a great pity we are losing him.

Agrees with mary lou on one thing then, plus he is getting paid 50%' more than he is worth.

Well done.

Our PM is a qualified doctor while volunteering on the front line, who is also dealing with Brexit and showing a humane side while taking a well deserved break in the Phoenix Park - while abiding to the COVID-19 restrictions/guidelines. Can't win.

josephamadigan 4000 euro for leo is a joke hes worth 500 euro week max

Well done

They are handing back annual pay increases. Their basic starting-in-office salary hasn’t changed or been handed back. Year-on-year the annual salary increase returned represents a higher % of that salary. It’s laudable, but not to be confused with returning anticipated income

Is Mattie leading by example and handing back 12% of his or is he too busy buttering bread for ham sandwiches for the local bun fight.

Ministers will not be accepting a pay rise this year, so they are giving back what they are not getting yet only in Ireland they get payed to much already should all be taking a pay cut

What an amazing Taoiseach honestly cannot fault him he’s done an amazing job throughout all this.

🤫

Their wages are way to high he cudve taken a 30% pay cut and still wudnt notice it! Someone seriously needs to set lower pay cheques for these and the money saved from their wages should benefit oaps, carers, people who've worked most of their lives an have to go on disability!

Some say what should be done and some just do it. I don’t think he can just walk away from the job and I think he’s stepped up rather well!

🤣🤣🤣 NotMyTaoiseach

Fair play Leo, now let the rest give back 12% at least. 30% would be be better.

Sure isn't he just great...........

It’s all spin from the King of spin.

Press conference to announce he wont take a pay rise, Because other countries have done it, And done it a lot sooner than Leo. What a joker.

He’s started his re election tricks already....kind of

Fair play. You could do with taking more from the SF playbook. But this is a good step

giotta97 what a man

Watch profitable companies jump on the bandwagon and use covid as an excuse to cut workers salaries

Take note BorisJohnson

Will not be accepting? They should not be getting an option. Any job, u work to get into a particular role, ur salary is usually then determined by the quality of ur work & the business performance. If it doesn't perform well u dont get any rise or bonus. Same should apply to Gov

Only 12%. Pitiful, when you think Trump never takes his salary.

12% seems specific will we all have to give back 12% of our salary also ?

1/2 his remuneration is expences, not cutting that I bet

Well done.

- 12% = apr &184,000

Lol,he should be handing back 60%

If I gave back 12% of my wage I would be homeless.

Oh, well then, all is forgiven. We’ll forget about the nursing home residents you sacrificed. Only Canada has a higher percentage.

LeoVaradkar FairPlay

A curious question about our President. He is cocooning since the Covid19 virus started so,he is not fulfilling his duties as President by not attending functions & community activies etc.Has his salary been reduced as he also gets expenses & lives in Aras An Uachtaráin free!!!

Need to look at how Govt functions once Dail is dissolved. Who was responding to COVID19 in late Jan/ Feb? Minister for Older people/Mental Health did not stand - how much attention was paid to portfolio? Reassign portfolio of unelected outgoing Ministers asap post election?

you are making a big deal of it...

A bit slow really when why are yeah getting a pay rise it's all.the front line workers that should especially hca anybody that was hands on with that virus and sf have been not taking it for a.while now

They should be taking a pay cut as no ministers have been in office for months!

Doesn’t need to go tweeting about it like Mary Lou

They should all take a pay cut, all overpaid and with expense accounts and leave with a fine pensions!

The Great Charlatan.

I had no choice but to give 30% maybe he should match it

Well you know what fair play still won't change my opinion of his or his parties policies but there you go

He won't acknowledge won't engage in any talks with MaryLouMcDonald at all, but he sure as hell as no problem copying her policies notmytaoiseach

Isn't he still getting paid for a job he lost months ago?

Bit late mate

The Shinners won’t like this....

Muppet!! 🙄

Well done Leo it's nice of you to take a pay cut on behalf of the next Taoiseach... Can't believe covit has saved your party

🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Big fucking deal. They are ALL over paid anyway

About time they have been drawing down huge salary and expenses while most people are struggling shame on them
